Synthetic diamonds redefine the codes of jewelry by combining authenticity, luxury and responsibility. Identical to natural diamonds, they are manufactured in laboratories using cutting-edge technologies

Here's how it works:

1. The starting point: a small diamond (substrate) We start with a small piece of diamond that we place in a reactor capable of recreating conditions similar to those found underground, but much more controlled.

2. The main ingredient: carbon A mixture of gases, mainly hydrogen (H₂) and methane (CH₄), is then fed into the machine. Methane is important because it contains carbon, the building block of diamonds (a diamond is almost 99.99% carbon). Then, heat is applied and energy is added to break the methane molecules apart, releasing carbon atoms.

3. The magic of crystallization These carbon atoms then settle on the small initial diamond and begin to form layers. Everything is controlled to ensure that a pure diamond is formed.

4. Result: a 100% pure diamond After a few weeks what comes out is a real diamond, which will be cut and polished by the same craftsmen and certified as an earth mined diamond.

Synthetic diamonds: the essence of luxury reinvented

Synthetic diamonds, created in the laboratory, are revolutionizing jewelry. In 2018, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission recognized these stones as real diamonds, removing the term “natural” from their definition.

The word "synthetic" has been removed from the recommended terms, while in France, the law has required it since the end of 2023! Ultimately, this semantic battle does not matter because the price difference and the significantly lower ecological impact are attracting more and more consumers. These diamonds are certified by the same laboratories with an indisputable reputation, following the same standards, and are produced with a lower carbon footprint compared to mining, which causes deforestation and pollution of ecosystems.

Although their use requires energy, solutions such as the use of renewable energies make this alternative even more attractive. Some producers, such as Diamond Foundry, produce with a truly neutral carbon footprint. Result: buying a diamond extracted from the earth no longer makes sense, either economically or ecologically.
